IDP is pleased to announce that it will officially commence its student placement operations in Nigeria from February 2022, following successful expansion into Egypt and Kenya.
IDP’s move into West Africa will enable more Nigerian students to achieve their global education ambitions, and support institutions in their diversification objectives, giving them access to IDP’s quality students in a high-growth market.
Virtual IDP student placement operations began in Nigeria in February, with IDP working alongside Higher Education institutions in the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to support their strategic recruitment objectives. In May 2022, IDP will formally open the doors to its new student placement office in Ikeja, Lagos.
Imad Chaoui, IDP’s Regional Director, Middle East, Africa, European Union, and CIS countries, said that IDP’s reputation as a trusted global brand, its focus on quality students and its long-standing partnerships with institutions, makes the Nigeria launch a significant milestone for the sector. “The number of Nigerian students pursuing an international education has increased phenomenally in recent years, and IDP is ready to help institutions leverage its quality student placement operations in Nigeria,” Mr Chaoui said.
“We are delighted to be bringing our world-leading services to students in Nigeria and connect them with leading institutions across the world,” he said.
“Using our digital platforms, expert compliance, and trusted human connections, we’ll support Nigerian students every step of the way in achieving their global study and career goals.”
Andrew Barkla, IDP Chief Executive Officer, said that the high-growth market of Nigeria provides exciting opportunities for students and institutions who can now be connected through IDP’s reputable counsellors.
“The study abroad journey is so nuanced to a person’s circumstances and aspirations and requires deep knowledge, empathy, and trust of the counsellor and the organisation that stands beside them,” said Mr Barkla.
“We are pleased to be bringing Nigerian students access to IDP’s qualified education experts, and assist institutions in their diversification strategies by placing quality students at their institution,” he said.
“Our highly-trained teams are ready to offer in-person and virtual support to Nigerian students and their families, and connect them with life-changing education opportunities.”
