AIEC 2023

The 36th annual Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) will be hosted in Adelaide and online 10 - 13 October 2023.

This year’s theme ‘international education: visionary and transformative’ focuses on the role that innovation plays in transforming the experiences of our students and the communities in which they live, work and study.

AIEC attracts international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders together to learn about major industry trends and network with Australian and international colleagues annually. With a conference schedule packed with keynotes, interactive sessions, an exhibition, social events, networking opportunities, and more, AIEC 2023 is the must-attend #intled event in the southern hemisphere.

Call for Proposals is now open!

We invite all IDP Clients to share their expertise in international education by submitting a proposal to present at the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) 2023 in October in Adelaide (Tarntanya).

This year’s theme – visionary and transformative – focuses on the role that innovation plays in transforming the experiences of our students and the communities in which they live, work and study.

Our sector is stronger when we encompass all voices. Consider submitting a proposal to speak at AIEC in October, so your voice is heard and forms part of our sector’s united vision and transformation.  

The submissions portal will close on 10 March at 5pm AEDT / UTC+11. 

An information session outlining the Call for Proposals (CFP) process is scheduled for 21 February at 2pm AEDT. Registration is essential, and the webinar recording will be available on our website after to view on demand.

In this session you will learn:

• how to craft a strong proposal

• the differences between session formats and AIEC key interest areas

• critical information on the review process and selection criteria

• common reasons for rejection and how to avoid them.

IDP has been the proud owner and host of this event since it was first held in Canberra in 1986. Since 2006, AIEC is jointly presented by IDP and the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). Attendees can join other sector experts from across the world in Adelaide from 10 to 13 October 2023.
