Dr Diana Beech is City St George’s, University of London's inaugural director of the Finsbury Institute, its new public policy institute. Dr Beech has also been appointed as Professor of Policy and Government Affairs and Associate Vice-President for Policy and Government Affairs.
Prior to this, she was Policy Adviser to three Universities Ministers under the Theresa May and Boris Johnson governments and was the first Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI). Diana is an Independent Governor at the University of Worcester and represents London’s higher education sector on the London Recovery Board. Diana holds a PhD in German Studies from the University of Cambridge and has been an early career academic in Canada, Germany and the UK. She is still currently the CEO of London Higher: the umbrella organisation representing 40 universities and higher education colleges across London. She previously worked as Head of Government Affairs at the University of Warwick.
