IDP Connect is pleased to announce the start of a new 3-year partnership with Teesside University beginning early May 2021.

Teesside University’s decision to work with IDP Connect reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to developing its international student offering and invest in partnerships that ensure they are delivering future-focused services from recruitment to course provision.

Teesside University is a unique institution with an attractive offering for international students. The university consistently scores at the top of the International Student Barometer Survey rankings including coming first in key areas such as: overall average satisfaction with learning, quality of lectures, course organisation, student life, student accommodation, and student unions. Looking ahead to the partnership with IDP Connect, there is an opportunity to ensure that this high praise from current international students is relayed back to prospective students who are making their higher education decisions to inform their choices.

Teesside University also recently became the first Adobe Creative Campus higher education institution in Europe in recognition of the institution’s clear commitment to encouraging digital literacy across all courses and areas of study. Having Adobe Creative Campus status gives 16,000 Teesside students and staff access to Adobe Creative Cloud and supports the faculty in ensuring that the development of digital literacy capabilities is present across all curriculum areas and courses.

The institution’s new partnership will help to draw attention to Teesside’s unique academic and experiential features to provide international students with a greater awareness of what studying at Teesside University can offer them.

Referring to the new partnership, Adam Rennison, Head of International Recruitment and Mobility at Teesside University, stated: We are pleased to announce our new partnership with IDP Education. As a dynamic, energetic and innovation-focused university, we are delighted to be starting this strategic partnership with a global organisation that supports our vision and approach of placing students at the heart of everything we do. As the first European higher education institution to become an Adobe Creative Campus, we recognise the importance of building vital digital literacy capabilities across all curriculum areas – a skill we know international students across the world will value as part of their education with us at Teesside. Combining this service with the University’s outstanding feedback for overall average satisfaction in the International Student Barometer 2019 means we are able to provide a first-class student experience for students across the world.

IDP are an ideal partner for us. Their human touch and expertise through in-country counselling, combined with forward-thinking digital experiences, offer the best of both worlds for our students and colleagues around the world. In addition,  IDP’s data and analytics services will provide insight-led strategy decisions that truly reflect student needs.”

By establishing a Core Partnership over a minimum of 3 years, Teesside will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with IDP’s global counsellor network and develop strong ties with a diverse set of in-country networks. The institution will also benefit from digital support across the full-funnel of recruitment including premium advertising across IDP Connect’s international websites and apps, as well as highly targeted lead nurturing through IDP’s omnichannel communication platforms.

Teesside will be able to refine all their marketing activities and recruitment goals through access to additional insights drawn from IDP Connect’s live student database and analytical tools, and to use market insight to develop their in-country presence and execute highly targeted marketing strategies to optimise recruitment outcomes.

IDP Connect Core Memberships were recently revealed to deliver an increase in enrollments of an average of 49%, compared to an increase of 23% for institutions who purely advertised on IDP Connect sites, between the 2018/19 and 2019/20 academic cycles. This data demonstrates the high value a Core Partnership can provide for institutions looking to expand and diversify their international student body.

Ed Kelly, Head of International Client Partnerships at IDP Connect, commented on the partnership: “IDP has a proud 50+ year history of helping students from all over the world find the Higher Education institution, and course, that is right for them. Our counselling teams offer a student-first experience, which is not influenced by commercial outcomes but by the best-fit experience for our students. The new addition of Teesside to the UK client list means we are now able to offer our students even greater choice and we are delighted to be working with them across our global network. Teesside University is highly respected for its student experience, making it an attractive choice for a wide range of international students wishing to study in the UK.”

IDP Connect is the strategic partner of choice for institutions seeking access to engaged student communities and wishing to share the unique features of their institution with prospective students. As part of IDP Education, the world leader in student recruitment, IDP Connect uses its global expertise, data-driven insights and trusted human connections to match universities, schools and colleges with the right students from around the world.
